Conviction in Murder Trial

By AP

Bartlesville, OK – Bartlesville man convicted of killing his wife

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. (AP) A Bartlesville man has been convicted of second-degree murder in the shooting death of his wife.

A Washington County jury deliberated about four-and-a-half hours before finding 52-year-old Gary Buoy guilty in the January 2011 shooting death of Diana Buoy. The jury recommended a 15-year-prison sentence and sentencing has been scheduled for March 12th.

Buoy said the shooting was an accident. But an Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation firearms examiner testified that he couldn't get the gun to fire accidentally even when hitting it with a hammer.
