Tulsa, Oklahoma – On this edition of our show, we hear from the acclaimed writer and visual artist Audrey Niffenegger, whose bestselling novels include "The Time Traveler's Wife" and "Her Fearful Symmetry," the former of which was made into a film last year --- and the latter of which has just been published in paperback. Having created many prints, illustrations, paintings, and drawings over the years, Niffenegger has also written numerous short stories and a pair of graphic novels --- in addition to the two bestsellers mentioned above. Hers has been a career that has successfully and memorably blended --- and continues to blend --- the realms of books and art, of words and pictures. Indeed, as she tells us on today's show, she's also working on a ballet at present (among other projects). Niffenegger will participate in a free-to-the-public Book Smart Tulsa event tonight (Tuesday the 13th) in the Mabee Lobby of the Philbrook Museum of Art, from 7pm till 8:30pm. (For more information, please visit philbrook.org. And if you plan to attend this event, please send an RSVP to booksmarttulsa@gmail.com.)
