Miami, OK – Authorities say 9 dead in traffic wreck in Okla. MIAMI, Okla. (AP) Nine people died when a tractor-trailer slammed into a line of cars stopped in traffic on a northeastern Oklahoma turnpike. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the accident happened yesterday afternoon northeast of Miami on the Will Rogers Turnpike near the border with Missouri and Kansas. Oklahoma Highway Patrol Lt. George Brown says traffic was stopped because of an earlier accident when the big rig slammed into at least three cars, causing them to crash into more vehicles. Brown says investigators don't believe the driver of the tractor-trailer tried to stop before the crash. The truck driver was not among those killed.
