The Tulsa Sheriff's Office and Homeland Security arrested the Reverend Ron Robinson on federal child pornography charges this afternoon. He was taken into custody at his Turley home. Robinson's Third Place Foundation Mission recently burned. It served as a community food bank and community center. That fire was caused by electrical issues.
Below is the text of a Sheriff's Office news release from Department Spokeswoman Casey Roebuck:
HSI (Homeland Security Investigations) Tulsa, the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office and HSI Phoenix served search warrants at two homes that are associated with Ronald Robinson (DOB 6/26/54). The locations are 7053 N Cincinnati and 563 East 63rd Street North. Robinson was arrested at the home on North Cincinnati. Agents also seized electronic devices belonging to Robinson. A search of the second location on East 63 rd StreetNorth did not result in the discovery of evidence. But an adult male and 2 minor children, ages 1 and 2. Due to the unsanitary conditions of the home, HSI Tulsa and TCSO made a referral for a child welfare check to DHS.
In September of 2016, HSI Phoenix provided information to HSI Tulsa about the child exploitation activities of Ronald Robinson, a Turley resident. According to HSI Phoenix, he has been accessing child exploitation material online from an IP address located in Tulsa County.
The investigation showed Robinson received child exploitation material via an online application. The material received by him depicted small children engaged in various sexual acts. The suspect made numerous lewd comments in the application while viewing the material alluding to his desire to rape and harm children.
During a post-Miranda interview, Robinson admitted to receiving child exploitation material on numerous occasions. He further stated that he fantasizes about raping and hurting children.
Through the course of the investigation, it was learned that Robinson is a Reverend and Director of “A Third Place Community Foundation.”
Robinson was arrested as part of the same child pornography investigation that led yesterday’s arrest of local principal Jeff Gross. However the individual cases are not connected.
