NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Baker Mayfield passed for 329 yards and three touchdowns to help Number 7 Oklahoma roll past UTEP 56-7.Mayfield completed 16 straight passes to start the game. The Sooners rolled up 676 yards of offense in their first game under new head coach Lincoln Riley.

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Jesse Ertz threw for 333 yards and four touchdowns in only three quarters of work, sending Number 20 Kansas State to a 55-19 rout of overmatched Central Arkansas Saturday night. The Wildcats had seven different players reach the end zone to give coach Bill Snyder another season-opening win. Snyder was back on the sideline after treatment this past season for throat cancer.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas senior forward Arlando Cook has been arrested on accusations of first-degree assault, public intoxication and disorderly conduct. Cook was booked into the Washington County Detention Center at 2:48 a.m. Saturday and was released just before noon on a $1,250 bond. Jail records do not indicate if Cook has an attorney.
