Cole bids for House

Tom Cole

By Catherine Roberts

Norman, Okla. – U.S. Rep. Tom Cole will make a bid for a fifth term in the U.S. House of Representatives. He formally announced his campaign Tuesday.
A resident of Moore, Okla., Cole represents the state's Fourth Congressional District, which includes Norman and Lawton.
The only Native American currently serving in Congress, Cole was elected in 2002. He serves on the House Appropriations Committee and for two years served as chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee.
Cole's challenger in the GOP primary is second-year law student and Oklahoma Army National Guard Air Traffic Control Platoon Leader R.J. Harris, a self-described "constitutional conservative."
