Tulsa, Oklahoma – A long-standing dispute over stormwater and trash bills invoiced to the fairgrounds will be resolved this summer.
The Tulsa County fair board agreed this morning to enter into mediation with the city, which will begin with a first meeting on June 16.
Former Oklahoma Supreme Court Justice Daniel Boudreau will act as mediator, and County Commissioner John Smalligo will act as chairman of the mediation effort for the county.
That effort will dictate who must pay the outstanding bills, which amount to more than $200,000, and are still growing. County officials claim that paying is the responsibility of the city since its annexation of the fairgrounds at the beginning of last year.
