Christmas Snow?

By AP

Undated – Snow possible in parts of Oklahoma on Christmas

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Parts of Oklahoma could see a White Christmas, or at least some snow flurries, on Sunday.

The National Weather Service says an approaching storm system will bring light precipitation to mainly western and southern Oklahoma on Christmas Day.

Some of the precipitation will fall as a wintry mix, but bursts of moderate snow may occur.

Forecasters say little or no accumulation is expected because temperatures will stay above freezing. The weather service says if snow does accumulate, it will be in southwestern Oklahoma.

No winter weather watches or warnings have been issued for Oklahoma, and meteorologists say they don't expect the precipitation to have a significant impact on travel.

The system comes about a week after parts of the Oklahoma Panhandle received more than foot of snow.
