Chili Bowl Update

By AP

Tulsa, OK – Stewart mixing dirt track fun with Daytona testing

TULSA, Okla. (AP) Even in a busy offseason for the NASCAR Sprint Cup champion, Tony Stewart is squeezing in time to do some dirt-track racing at the Chili Bowl.

Stewart was going through qualifying Wednesday for the main event Saturday in Tulsa, Okla., on a quarter-mile, indoor track. In between, he's flying to Florida to do testing for the Daytona 500.

Stewart says he expects there to be a learning curve at the start of the NASCAR season after he brought in new crew chief Steve Addington and brought back former crew chief Greg Zipadelli as his competition director.

Yet he still wanted to take a shot at winning his third Golden Driller trophy and claiming some bragging rights on a field of more than 260 drivers.
