Tulsa, OK – Oklahoma boy killed by family minivan

TULSA, Okla. (AP) An 8-year-old Tulsa boy has died after being run over by the family minivan.

Police say the boy's mother had placed him and his 18-month-old sibling in the van on Sunday afternoon. She realized she had forgotten her cell phone and went back inside the house.

A moment later, she heard a scream from outside.

Police say the woman ran outside and saw her son being run over. Police don't know how the boy got out of the van or why it started rolling.

Tulsa Police Sgt. Terry Maurer says that the incident was a "pure accident."

The toddler also in the car was uninjured.
