Vinita, OK – Man killed as chase ends in crash on Will Rogers

(Information in the following story is from: The Oklahoman, http://www.newsok.com)

VINITA, Okla. (AP) A motorist who fled from a state trooper on the Will Rogers Turnpike was killed when he was ejected from his wrecked car.

An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper was chasing 42-year-old Lamont Rainwater of Lawton on Thursday when the wreck occurred.

The Oklahoman reports that the man's wife, Debra Rainwater, says her husband had retired after a 20-year military career that included two tours in Iraq. Debra Rainwater said her husband was on the turnpike because they were considering a move to land between Tulsa and Joplin, Missouri.

Investigators say they don't know why Rainwater decided to flee.
