Charity Investigates Founder

By Associated Press

Oklahoma City – OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) The Oklahoma City-based charity Feed The Children is investigating the charity's founder over the repayment of a $1 million construction loan.

Attorneys for the charity have subpoenaed records on the financing of the home in the Oklahoma City suburb of Nicholls Hills.

Larry Jones calls the allegation bogus and says the money to repay the loan came from an inheritance. The loan was repayed in July 2009.

Jones and his wife are asking a judge to quash the subpoenas. A hearing is scheduled for Sept. 9.

Jones was fired as Feed The Children president in November by the charity's board and is suing to get his job back.

The charity says Jones took a series of bribes and is countersuing for damages. Jones denies the allegation.
