Tulsa, OK – Okla. teen charged with murder in robbery attempt

TULSA, Okla. (AP) Tulsa County prosecutors have charged a teenager with felony murder in the attempted armed robbery of a store that left his alleged 14-year-old accomplice dead.

The 15-year-old also was charged as an adult Friday with attempted robbery with a firearm.

Police say Qualynn Dabney was killed Sunday after both teens entered the Zeba Food Mart No. 2. Investigators say Dabney fired shots from a rifle, then pointed it at the store clerk, who returned fire.

Thomas Frazier, the father of the teen who was charged, told the Tulsa World his son and Dabney were wrong, but he said authorities shouldn't charge his son for Dabney's death.

Prosecutor Steve Kunzweiler says Oklahoma law allows the murder charge to be filed even though the teen didn't kill Dabney.
