Charges Filed in Murder-for-Hire Plot

By AP

Tulsa, OK – 3 accused of plotting to kill top Tulsa detective

TULSA, Okla. (AP) Three men have been charged with plotting to kill Tulsa's top detective, Sgt. Mike Huff.

The Tulsa World reports that a single charge of conspiracy to commit murder was filed Monday against each of the three two 25-year-olds, Phillip Anthony Summers and Demonte Ray Bell; and 23-year-old Michael Jawan Jefferson, also known as Michael Lucas. Tulsa Jail records show that all three are behind bars there. Bail for Bell and Jefferson is set at $3 million each, while Summers is being held without bail.

Affidavits supporting a search warrant in the case say the plot was discovered by officers listening to a wiretap in January. Court documents also name Summers as a co-conspirator in a plot to kill Tulsa County District Attorney Tim Harris.
