Chamber Music in Oklahoma - The Meccorre Quartet on Performance Oklahoma

Praised for its breathtaking performances, flawless technique, and visionary interpretations, the Meccorre Quartet won second prize – and three additional special prizes – at the London International String Quartet Competition at Wigmore Hall in April 2012. Formed by four of Europe’s most celebrated young string players in 2007 the Quartet now performs extensively throughout the continent. The Quartet’s debut tour in North America is taking place in November 2013 and their first stop was in Oklahoma City as guests of Chamber Music in Oklahoma. The program offered on Sunday, November 6th at Christ the King Catholic Church in Oklahoma City featured the Quartet in B minor, Op 33, No. 1 by Franz Joseph Haydn, the Quartet No. 2, Op 56 by KarolMaciejSzymanowski, WitoldLutowslawski's String Quartet and the Quartet in A Major, Op 41. No. 3 by Robert Schumann.
