CAP Starts Literacy Program for Kids

The Community Action Project of Tulsa has launched a literacy campaign and book drive. The "Together We Read" campaign aims to help children aged zero to four have better reading comprehension and word recognition.

Amanda Viles, the director of donor relations, hopes this campaign will help prepare children for kindergarten. The campaign will benefit families who can not afford their own books or those with no access to public libraries.

The book drive kicked off this week and will end on October 2. Donations of new and gently used books will be accepted at local schools and businesses around Tulsa. For a full list of donation locations visit captulsa.org/togetherweread.
