Tulsa, OK – The Tulsa City Council faces a busy agenda on Tuesday morning. The Council will get an update on the Tulsa Development Authority's efforts to sell the old city hall to Brickhugger, LLC. The company wants to turn the now vacant building into a downtown hotel.
The Council has requested a briefing on the transition of the Tulsa Zoo to a private management firm. Tulsa Zoo Friends has become Tulsa Zoo Management, Inc. Former Councilor and Deputy Mayor Tom Baker has been appointed to lead the transition.
Police Chief Chuck Jordan or an assistant is expected to appear before the council with an estimate on how much it will cost to get the second Tulsa Police helicopter in the air. Tulsa has two choppers but only one is currently flying because of the city budget crisis.
The council will also discuss a ballot proposal to make the City Attorney's position elected. Currently, the City Attorney is appointed by the Mayor, but classified as a civil servant.
