Building a Budget at City Hall

Matt Trotter
/
KWGS

Tulsa City Department Heads are in the middle of budget presentations. They are going in front of a committee,  presenting  budget requests for the next fiscal year which will begin in July.

Mayor Bartlett says he is pleased with the presentations so far. He is asking departments to address "needs" but to stay away from "wants".

The Mayor says it will be another no-frills budget for the city. Even though sales tax revenue has been steady to up slightly,  Bartlett says there is no way of knowing what the collapse of oil prices, including lay-offs, could have on Tulsa's future sales tax collections.
