Brightmusic's Poetic Portraits on Performance Oklahoma

Joining the Brightmusic Society of Oklahomaas a special guest artist, in the opening concerts of the Society’s 12th season, baritone Randall Scarlata and Brightmusic Chamber Ensemble musicians offered the Overture on Hebrew Themes Op 34 for clarinet, piano and string quartet by Sergei Prokofiev, a selection of six lieder for baritone and piano by Franz Schubert, Thea Musgrave's Four Portraits for baritone, clarinet and piano, Dover Beach Op 3 for baritone and String Quartet by Samuel Barber and Robert Schumann's Dichterliebe Op 48 for baritone and piano in a program entitled "Poetic Portraits."  

Brightmusic artists include violinists Gregory Lee and Katrin Stamatis, violist Mark Neumann, cellist Jonathan Ruck, and co artistic directors:  clarinetist Chad Burrow and pianist Amy I-Lin Cheng.  The performance recording features the second concert given at St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral on Tuesday, September 23rd at 7:30pm and was recorded by Matt Horton of AVPro Studios.  

Performance Oklahoma is heard each week on Saturday evening at 8pm over Classical 88.7-1.
