Braggs Residents Asked to Conserve Water
BRAGGS, Okla. (AP) — Officials in Braggs say the town is facing a water shortage.
Town Clerk Rebecca Smith says all 416 water customers have been asked to avoid outdoor watering and to not fill their swimming pools. Tulsa television station KOTV reports that the town hopes to open up a shared water line between Fort Braggs and the city of Braggs.
Smith says the Muskogee County town has a small, older water system and its water pumps are struggling to keep up with demand. Smith says residents will still need to conserve water — even with added water from the Fort Braggs system.
She says a lack of rainfall has caused levels to drop in the aquifer that supplies water to Braggs' system.
