Guthrie, OK – 3-year-old Okla. boy drowns in pool
GUTHRIE, Okla. (AP) A little Tecumseh boy has drowned in a swimming pool in Logan County.
Emergency crews responded to a call about 8:25 p.m. Thursday at a home near Interstate 35 and Seward Road.
Sheriff's deputy Rob Groseclose says 3-year-old Jacob White was visiting relatives who were preparing for the holiday weekend. Groseclose says the boy's father was mowing grass and said he had put a life jacket on the child.
Investigator believe Jacob took off the life jacket and got into the swimming pool.
His parents and emergency workers tried to revive him, but Jacob was pronounced dead at Logan Regional Medical Center in Guthrie.
