Botched Arizona Execution Renews Death Penalty Debate in Oklahoma

Oklahoma DOC

Another botched execution, this time in Arizona, renews debate over the death penalty. The condemned inmate, Joseph Wood, took nearly two hours to die, gasping and snorting after lethal drugs were administered. Tulsa Law Professor Lyn Entzeroth is a recognized national expert on capital punishment. She agrees this latest episode, three months after a botched execution in Oklahoma, will add to the scrutiny over the death penalty in the U-S.

The Oklahoma case of Clayton Lockett’s death is being investigated. Another execution in McAlester is scheduled November 13th.
