New Woodville, OK – Boat accident on Lake Texoma claims OK man's life

NEW WOODVILLE, Okla. (AP) Oklahoma authorities say a man is dead after a boating accident on Lake Texoma near the Oklahoma-Texas border.

The Department of Public Service says 49-year-old Jeffery Bain of Oklahoma City died when his 32-foot boat hit rocks along the shore at a railroad bridge near Alberta Creek at 3:20 a.m. Sunday.

Officials say the boat was going about 65 mph when it went up on the rocks, ejecting Bain.

Two other people were in the boat. One was treated and released for a head injury and the other passenger was not hurt.

The three boaters were pickup in by a private pontoon boat and taken to a marina at Alberta Creek.
