OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A state board headed by Gov. Mary Fallin is expected to certify how much the Oklahoma Legislature will have to spend on state programs for the fiscal year that begins July 1.
The Oklahoma Board of Equalization is scheduled to meet Tuesday and certify how much revenue will be available for appropriation on state programs.
The board last met in December and determined lawmakers would have about $170 million less to spend than they did on the current state budget. Overall, the board certified about $6.96 billion in available revenue, and that amount was used by Fallin to build her executive budget proposal.
The amount certified on Tuesday is the final figure that legislative leaders will use to determine how much is appropriated to state agencies.
