Keystone Lake, OK – Crew finds body of man who drowned in Okla. lake

SAPULPA, Okla. (AP) The body of a Bixby man has been recovered from Keystone Lake.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Lake Patrol officers found 27-year-old Jacob Gibson at 8:32 a.m. Monday about 120 yards from the south bank of Houseboat Island. He was in 20 feet of water.

Troopers say Gibson was on the south side of the island near Salt Creek about 10:15 p.m. Sunday when he noticed a boat had started drifting from the shore. Authorities say he swam out to try to retrieve the vessel then started calling for help.

Witnesses said they couldn't locate him.

Searchers were unable to find Gibson Sunday night and they suspended their efforts until daybreak on Monday.
