Tulsa Community College hosts a college preview day Saturday.
It’s being called the Big Blue Blitz, and they’ll be answering all the questions potential students and their parents might have.
"Even in the age of internet and social media, and students can receive information from multiple options these days, it's always good to have that hands-on experience and actually be able to meet people who are dedicated to helping students transition," Harris said.
There will be sessions for parents who may not speak English.
"Parents who speak Spanish as a first language have the opportunity to speak with some of our faculty and also our staff members concerning admissions," Harris said.
Big Blue Blitz is dedicated to teaching high school juniors and seniors more about TCC’s seven academic schools and resources like financial aid. Harris said they hope the outreach effort reaches more than just prospective students.
"It can start, in some ways, a domino effect within the family by showing family members how valuable a college education is, and hopefully inspiring other family members to achieve the same goal," Harris said.
The event is from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the southeast campus student union at 81st Street and Highway 169. Registration is preferred.
