Tulsa, Oklahoma – On this edition of The Best of StudioTulsa, we re-broadcast an interview with Dr. Paul Frommer that originally aired back in October. A professor at the Marshall School of Business (at the University of Southern California) who also has a Ph.D. in linguistics, Frommer is best known for creating the language known as Na'vi for the blockbuster James Cameron film, "Avatar." As Frommer tells us on today's program, the pinnacle of success in this regard --- that is, in completely manufacturing a language for sci-fi purposes, an all-new tongue that has character, depth, richness, and logic (and that can be learned and remembered and recited by actors) --- is Klingon, of course, which goes back to the "Star Trek" TV show of the 1960s.
