Bartlesville, OK – Board puts 2 Bartlesville school sites up for sale
BARTLESVILLE, Okla. (AP) The Bartlesville school board is putting two school properties up for sale as it prepares for a projected $2.2 million cut in state aid for this fiscal year.
The Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise reports the board declared Oak Park Elementary School and the McKinley school properties as surplus and will sell them using sealed bids.
Superintendent Gary Quinn says a date will be set to open public bidding.
The board voted 6-0 in May to close Oak Park Elementary. Quinn says closing the school is expected to save the district about $600,000.
The McKinley property now houses the district's child nutrition, adult education, Even Start and Operation Eagle programs as well as its technology group. A district spokesman says those services are being moved to another site.
