Ballot Title Flap Not a Conspiracy Says Pruitt

State of Oklahoma-File Photo

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Attorney General Scott Pruitt's office says it properly rewrote the ballot title for a proposed $500 million bond issue for school safety, and that any suggestion of a Republican conspiracy against the plan is "utter hogwash."

Pruitt's office on Friday filed a response over a challenge to his rewrite of the ballot title. In the filing, Senior Assistant Attorney General Neal Leader accuses the plaintiffs in the case of grandstanding and says the ballot title was rewritten to meet certain requirements for describing a financial transaction.
