Baby Death Update

Bartlesville, OK – Okla. woman accused in baby's death waives trial

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. (AP) A Washington County judge has scheduled an Aug. 23 date for a Bartlesville woman to enter a plea to charges in the death of her 10-day-old baby.

Lyndsey Fiddler waived her right Tuesday to a jury trial on first-degree murder and child neglect counts.

Prosecutors charged Fiddler in the Nov. 4 death of Maggie Trammel, whose body was discovered in a washing machine.

Police say Maggie's great aunt found her mixed in with a load of laundry. Fiddler said she put Maggie in a bassinet and doesn't know how she got in the machine.

Fiddler's attorney, Mark Kane, sought to have the murder charge quashed, arguing that second-degree manslaughter was more appropriate.

District Judge Curtis DeLapp denied Kane's motion.
