Broken Arrow, OK – Broken Arrow fire chief dismissed by city manager
TULSA, Okla. (AP) Broken Arrow's interim city manager has fired the town's fire chief.
City Manager Dave Wooden ruled on Friday that Fire Chief Jackie Carner had violated city policies and been insubordinate.
Carner had been placed on administrative leave on May 29 and had a predetermination hearing on Wednesday. He had joined the Broken Arrow Fire Department in July 2008 and was a probationary employee.
Deputy Chief Steve Jarrett will be the interim fire chief in the town of about 75,000 people located in Tulsa and Wagoner counties.
