Tulsa, OK – Councilman expects AG decision on probe of mayor
The Associated Press

TULSA, Okla. (AP) A Tulsa city councilor says he expects a decision next week by the attorney general on whether there will be an investigation into allegations of wrongdoing against Mayor Dewey Bartlett.

Councilman John Eagleton sent documents earlier this month supporting the allegations along with nearly 1,900 voter signatures supporting an investigation.

The attorney general could either decide to pursue an investigation, which could lead to him filing a petition of ouster against the mayor, or take no action on the matter.

Eagleton's allegations include that Bartlett has failed to attend city meetings, accepted free gifts or services from a city contractor and solicited people to file lawsuits against the city.

Bartlett has denied any wrongdoing and has accused Eagleton of twisting the facts.
