AUDIO: More Students... Fewer Teachers

Wikipedia

The Oklahoma State School Board Association says Oklahoma is facing a crisis. Schools are facing more students and fewer teachers.

Association Executive Director Shawn Hime says the state is facing a teacher shortage. He says over 2,000 teachers have either had their jobs eliminated, left the profession or fled the state for more money.

Just across the Red River, a teacher can make $20,000 a year more than in Oklahoma. He says young teachers can not pass up that money.
