AUDIO: Defense Attorneys Say There was No Bixby Football Rape

KWGS News

Attorneys representing the four high school boys charged with raping a fellow Bixby Football player say they plan a vigorous defense. Attorney Clark Brewster says charges should have never been filed in this case. He says this was not a sexual assault, but was part of a prankish, roughhousing culture on a football team.

The attorneys blasted law enforcement and prosecutors for mishandling the case.  In a statement they say the charges “ignored the truth and disregarded that the accuser had engaged in similar roughhousing that is now alleged as criminal”.

Charges were filed yesterday against the four boys. They are charged with rape by instrumentation and could get up to 15-years in prison.

The incident took place at the home of former Bixby School Superintendent Kyle Wood. Wood’s son is one of those charged. The Wood family attorney is Paul DeMuro. He denies there was any attempt to cover-up the incident.
