Henryetta, Okla. – Okmulgee county investigators have arrested two people in connection with the murder of 56-year-old businessman Delbert Linn Rodgers on Saturday.
John William Burgess is being held in the Okmulgee County jail on complaint of first degree murder, and Denise Mae Groff is being held on complaints of accessory after the fact and conspiracy to commit murder.
Groff, Rodger's girlfriend, met deputies at the scene of the crime, telling them she found the victim on the floor of their garage.
Investigators later discovered that Groff and Burgess were having an affair, and that a large amount of cash was taken from the home after Burgess shot Rodgers three times with a .38 caliber pistol.
Rodgers was well known for his auto-service business, The Oil Pit, 210 N. E St., Henryetta.
