Del City, OK – 10 Occupy OKC protesters arrested in Del City

DEL CITY, Okla. (AP) A group of Occupy OKC activists were arrested and jailed following a protest at a Del City Wal-Mart.

Occupy OKC participant Mark Faulk says 10 members of the group were arrested early Friday after conducting a group chant inside the store in the Oklahoma City suburb. Faulk says the protesters were jailed for disorderly conduct, and five of them would be released on bond by Friday afternoon.

A Del City police dispatcher confirmed several arrests, but messages left with a department spokesman were not immediately returned.

Faulk contends police used excessive force by tackling and handcuffing participants who were heading toward the exit after being asked to leave by store personnel.

Faulk says the group was protesting wage disparity of store workers with that of corporate officers.
