Arrest in Muskogee bank robbery

FBI

MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) — The FBI says a Muskogee man has been arrested for the robbery of a Muskogee bank at knife-point.

Special Agent Clay Simmonds says 66-year-old Jerry Lee Taylor was arrested shortly after the Wednesday morning robbery.

It was not known if Taylor had an attorney.

Simmonds says there were no injuries during the robbery that occurred when a man walked into the Banc First bank with a knife and demanded money. Simmonds says the man then jumped over a teller's counter and took an undisclosed amount of cash from drawers before leaving.

The agent says Taylor was arrested shortly after a car matching the suspect's vehicle was stopped by Muskogee County deputies near Taft — about 10 miles west of Muskogee.
