Another Tulsa County Flu Death

File Photo-EMSA

The flu is not finished with us just yet. Another Tulsa County resident has died in the past week.

So far, eight people from Tulsa County have died of the flu since the first of October. Figures from the State Health Department indicate that more people have died of the flu this season in Tulsa County, than anywhere else in the state. The number of flu deaths statewide stands at 33.

State Epidemiologist Doctor Kristi Bradley says there are some people at a higher risk of getting the flu.

DR. BRADLEY: “Asthma, conditions of the heart or the lungs, any conditions that suppress the immune system and even people who have to take large doses of steroids to control arthritis or allergy conditions are considered to be at high risk of flu complications.”
