Another Gaffe for Tulsa Sheriff's Office

KWGS News

Tulsa County Sheriff Stanley Glanz is under more sharp criticism. This time by the Sapulpa police chief for a condolence letter that misidentified a Sapulpa officer who was killed in an off-duty incident with the name of a suspect arrested in the slaying.

Glanz says the name gaffe was a "very regrettable mistake." He says a secretary made the error, but that he signed the letter without carefully reviewing it.

The Sapulpa police chief said his department was disappointed by the letter. He also took issue with comments he said were made by a sheriff's major.

He said the major refused to have the Sheriff's Office handle an investigation at a homicide scene while all Sapulpa police officers were at the slain officer's burial.
