OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) A Porter man has become the eighth Oklahoma soldier to die in less than a month while serving in Afghanistan.

The Department of Defense and the Oklahoma Army National Guard announced Wednesday that Spc. Joshua Michael Seals died Tuesday in a non-combat related incident in Paktia Province, Afghanistan.

Officials didn't specify what type of incident occurred.

Guard officials said this was the first deployment for the 21-year-old Seals, who joined three years ago to become a truck driver. He was assigned to the Tulsa-based 1st Battalion, 279th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team.
