...And The Walls Come Tumbling Down

It is one of the most iconic structures in Oklahoma. The Glass House McDonald’s over the Will Rogers Turnpike at Vinita. Demolition of the structure started today. The building will be brought down, except for its steel beams.

The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority’s Jack Damrill says it will take about a year to rebuild. There will be a new service stations on each side and two eateries over the roadway. One will be a McDonald's, but it is no longer the world's largest.                                  

With the center closed, you will have to exit the turnpike in order to fine food of fuel between Tulsa and Joplin.
