Allergy Sufferers Get Break

Oklahoma City, OK – Brief respite from high pollen in OKC, Tulsa

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Allergy sufferers in Oklahoma City and Tulsa have gotten a brief break from high pollen levels but the levels are expected to rise again soon.

Certified mold and pollen counter Jeanice Shropshire says she's using allergy medication for her eyes and she's not even allergic. Shropshire is with the American Academy of Asthma Allergy and Immunology and says the pollen is coming from several places including oak, mulberry, sycamore, birch, cottonwood and pine.

The pollen level in Oklahoma City fell from very high to high Thursday but is expected to rise again Saturday and Sunday. Tulsa is somewhat better off with a low-medium pollen level expected Friday but rising to medium-high levels Saturday and Sunday.
