Each week, ATJ spins modern jazz, both recent and classic, across a range of styles. It's two solid hours of music -- uniformly excellent music, at that, which you'll find nowhere else on Tulsa radio -- and in the second half of ATJ, for every blessed broadcast, we offer a theme.
This time around, as many of us enjoy an extended holiday weekend post-Thanksgiving, that second-hour theme will be Extended Works. Thus we'll hear a variety of longer-than-ten-minute pieces by the likes of Carla Bley, Alan Broadbent, Dexter Gordon (shown here), and more. And in the first half of the show, we'll hear from Jackie McLean, Roy Haynes, and Andre Previn.
