Alfalfa County Commissioner and Wife Arrested

CHEROKEE, Okla. (AP) — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has arrested Alfalfa County Commissioner Doug Murrow and his wife on drug and weapons charges.

The OSBI says Murrow and Brandelynn Murrow of Cherokee were arrested Wednesday night at their home in Cherokee.

Doug Murrow was arrested for giving a firearm to a convicted felon and possession of a controlled dangerous drug within 1,000 feet of a school. Brandelynn Murrow was arrested for possession of a firearm after a felony conviction and possession of a controlled dangerous drug within 1,000 feet of a school.

Doug Murrow declined comment on the allegations on Thursday.

The OSBI said its investigation began in mid-June at the request of the Alfalfa County district attorney.
