PERRY, Okla. (AP) — Three earthquakes have rattled towns in northern and central Oklahoma.
The U.S. Geological Survey says a 3.0 magnitude quake struck Sunday at about 3:54 p.m. near the town of Perry in northern Oklahoma.
Earlier, another 3.0 magnitude temblor hit around 3:30 a.m. near Fairview in the northwestern part of the state.
A 3.0 magnitude quake shook near the town of Yale in north-central Oklahoma at about 2:15 a.m.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
The number of earthquakes with a magnitude 3.0 or greater has skyrocketed in Oklahoma, from a few dozen in 2012 to more than 900 last year.
Scientists blame wastewater disposal volumes for increased seismicity.
