GROVE, Okla. (AP) — Three men have died after their vehicle careened 80 feet down a rocky bluff and plunged into the frigid water of Grand Lake.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Grand River Dam Authority divers pulled the body of 24-year-old Michael John McKinney of Brookings, Ore., through a rear window of the vehicle on Friday.
The other victims hadn't been identified, but Trooper Eric Gibe says two other men were also in the vehicle.
Authorities think the driver failed to navigate a curve on a Delaware County roadway north of Grove and plummeted down the cliff. The GRDA used a dive team and sonar equipment to locate the vehicle.
The exact time of the accident is unknown, but authorities believe it happened about 10:30 p.m. Thursday.
