Hope you can tune in for the next All This Jazz, which begins at 10pm on Saturday the 13th, right here on Public Radio 89.5...and online via live stream at PublicRadioTulsa.org. (We'll also offer, as always, a 7pm re-broadcast of ATJ on Sunday the 14th on Jazz 89.5-2, which is Public Radio Tulsa's all-jazz HD Radio channel.)
Each week, our program delivers 120 minutes of mighty fine modern jazz, both recent and classic, across a range of styles -- from Louis Armstrong to Joe Zawinul. And the second half of the broadcast always has a theme.
This time out, our latter-hour theme will be Trios & Quartets, and so we'll hear from the Chick Corea Trio, the New York Jazz Quartet, The Bad Plus, and more. And in the first hour, among others, we'll dig Teddy Edwards, Charlie Parker, and Warren Wolf (shown here).
Join us for a terrific program that'll also spotlight the newly released (and quite excellent) "Hamburg '72" CD from Keith Jarrett / Charlie Haden / Paul Motian -- as well as the ever-popular "Charlie Brown Christmas" album from the Vince Guaraldi Trio. (That classic, better-with-each-passing-year TV special is now marking its 50th anniversary, btw.)
It's all kinds of jazz and all kinds of fun. It's All This Jazz. And it's all good. (Playlist info for the show can be found here, in case you're curious, and our Facebook page is at this link. Cheers, gang.)
