Dr. Arthur A. Rasher is an Associate Professor of Management in the Department of Management and Marketing at the University of Tulsa.
A native of Mount Vernon, New York, Dr. Rasher holds a Ph.D. in Business from Michigan State University, a Specialist Degree in System Dynamics from the Sloan School at MIT, an MBA from Eastern Michigan University and a BSChE in Chemical Engineering from Michigan State University. Rasher has been the recipient of the Mayo Teaching Excellence Award, Medicine Wheel Award for Meritorious Community Service and a Best Paper Award at the National Meetings of the Academy of Management.
For the past 18 years Dr. Rasher has served as a co-host of the radio show BusinessWorld on the Tulsa NPR affiliate, KWGS 89.5 FM. Dr. Rasher currently holds two joint faculty appointments; one in Costa Rica and one in Russia.
Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Tulsa, Dr. Rasher was on the faculty of Florida State University and Michigan State University and was employed by Andersen Consulting Company and Union Oil Company of California. Dr. Rasher has worked with two state Governors, Bob Graham of Florida and William Milliken of Michigan and as a consultant to several state agencies and legislative committees.
He also is a member of the Academy of Management, serves on the Board of Directors of two non-profit organizations in Oklahoma, the national Board of Sigma Iota Epsilon Management Honorary and is a Big Brother in Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Oklahoma.
In 2009, Dr. Rasher was named “Tulsa Area Big Brother of the Year” and received the “U.S. President’s Service Award”. In 2010, Rasher was named “Oklahoma Big Brother of the Year” and “United States Big Brother of the Year”, which included a reception in the Oval Office at the White House. He was named the 2011 Molly and David Boren Award winner as the outstanding Oklahoma mentor. Dr. Rasher is currently the president of the board of directors of Hospice of Green Country, a Tulsa Area United Way agency.
