Tulsa, OK – American Airlines moving 200 positions to Texas

TULSA, Okla. (AP) American Airlines is transferring 200 Tulsa-based maintenance operations coordinators to Texas over two years.

Airlines officials said Monday the company is consolidating employees of the Maintenance Operations Center, which oversees aircraft maintenance at line or overnight maintenance stations, with the Systems Operations Center in Fort Worth.

The SOC dispatches aircraft to airports or line maintenance stations where they are needed.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Gov. Brad Henry has signed into law 29 bills that include three anti-abortion measures and a bill to revamp the Commissioners of the Land Office after an embezzlement scandal.

The bills were filed Monday with the Secretary of State's Office.

Meth Labs Increase

Oklahoma City, OK – Meth labs again on the rise in Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Narcotics investigators in Oklahoma say the number of methamphetamine labs is again rising across the state.

The number of meth labs declined in Oklahoma after 2004 when the state became the first in the nation to limit the sale of pseudoephedrine. Pseudoephedrine is found in cold medicines and is a key ingredient in making meth.

Bomb Threat at Tulsa Airport

Tulsa, OK – One man is in custody after making a bomb threat at the security check point at the Tulsa International Airport. The incident happened last night.

Airport authorities say 42-year-old Timothy Hathaway walked up to the check point claiming to have a bomb in a bag he was carrying. The TSA officer called Tulsa Airport Police to the scene, but Hathaway fled as officers arrived. Officers gave chase and caught Hathaway.

Oklahoma Drug Deaths

Oklahoma City, OK – Drug-related deaths in Okla. likely to set record

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) State narcotics officials say the number of drug-related deaths in Oklahoma last year is likely to be the highest in state history.

Recent autopsy reports show 452 people died from drug use from January to September last year compared to 448 drug-related deaths during the same period in 2008.

Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics director Darrell Weaver says a record 612 people died of drug use in 2008.

Sand Springs Teen Hurt

Sand Springs, OK – Okla. man hurt in industrial accident

SAND SPRINGS, Okla. (AP) Authorities say an 18-year-old man suffered serious injuries after he was hurt in an industrial accident in Sand Springs.

The Sand Springs Fire Department says the man was working at Webco on Saturday afternoon when a heavy roll of raw material fell onto him, crushing his legs.

The fire department helped extricate and stabilize the man until emergency workers arrived.
