The Future of Tulsa's Trash

Tulsa, OK – Tulsa has just one year if it is going to make changes to its trash service.

Most people have twice a week service from a private hauler with a few getting once a week service from the city. Trash Board Chair Cheryl Cohnour wants the process streamlined.

Some on the city council say the board should leave well enough alone.

A new contract must be in place by the end of next June

Langley, OK – The Grand River Dam Authority continues to monitor the water quality.

GRDA reports 12-people have developed rashes or became ill after water contact. Signs were posted at beaches warning people to stay out of the water.

The lake has Blue Green Algae in low water areas.

Mangum, OK – Testimony to begin in trial of Okla. warden's wife

MANGUM, Okla. (AP) Testimony is scheduled to start in the Greer County District Court trial of a former Oklahoma prison warden's wife accused of helping a convicted killer escape almost 17 years ago.

Opening statements began in the trial of Bobbi Parker on Tuesday and were expected to continue Wednesday morning.

TPD Finds Car

Tulsa, OK – Tulsa police find car connected to fatal accident

TULSA, Okla. (AP) Tulsa police have found a vehicle they believe was involved in a hit-and-run accident that killed a motorcyclist.

Officers say 52-year-old Donald Anderson was pronounced dead at a hospital after the crash about 9 p.m. Monday.

Investigators say a gray or silver Chevrolet Camaro turned in front of the motorcycle on north Peoria, throwing Anderson to the pavement.

TULSA, Okla. (AP) The Tulsa metropolitan area will be under an ozone alert.

The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality has issued the alert for Wednesday because conditions are favorable for an unhealthy buildup of ozone near the ground.

Parker Trial to Begin

Mangum, OK – Trial starts for former Oklahoma warden's wife

MANGUM, Okla. (AP) A prosecutor says the wife of a former Oklahoma prison warden developed a close relationship with a convicted killer in the months before they disappeared together.

Opening statements began Tuesday in Greer County District Court in the trial of Bobbi Parker, who is charged with helping inmate Randolph Dial escape from the Oklahoma State Reformatory in Granite in 1994.
